Type Locality and Naming

Along the Kepeli ravine, Fergana. M.N. Gramm, 1958 (467, p.171).

Synonym: Kepeliy Suite, Кегелийская св.


Lithology and Thickness

Conglomerates, gray gravelites with interlayers of clays, siltstone (aleurolites), and light-brown sandstones. Thickness 792m (Akbel-Akchop-Supetau) to 2470m (Sumsar-Maylisay).

Relationships and Distribution

Lower contact

Lies with erosion on the Akchop Fm

Upper contact

It is overlain by the Ispisar Fm, sometimes with angular unconformity.

Regional extent

Fergana Valley. Corresponds to the suite B2, C1 and C2 of N.P. Vasilkovsky (126). Syn.: Bactrian series (166; 382; 444.).
